Wolf Timbers

On Monday this week me and some classmates went to visit a place called Wolf Timbers. It is a educational place where they teach you about wolves. And they also had the wolves there. There names where Nira, Keeleyand Ingo. They where very beautiful wolves. And I was extremely impressed.

Is Dennis Dixon for real?

I don’t know I am not sure that Dennis Dixon is the best choice for the Steelers. He didn’t throw a touchdown and one interception and a handful of other passes where almost intercepted or where too low to the ground. I just think that Charlie Batch would be better because he can make better decisions. But I may be jumping the gun a little bit after all it was week 1 so I say give Dixon 1 or 2 more weeks if no improvement switch to Charlie Batch.

Steelers edge win vs Falcons

I think that the game was interesting the Steelers defense was impressive as expected with Araon Smith and Troy Polamalu back in the line up. I got to admit the Falcons gave us a run for our money there defense was not that far behind from us. There offense still came close to getting us but Troy and the defense got us out of a few jams. Then Rashard Mendenhall got in a good game of work in with 120 yards. Then in overtime Mendenhall got us the win with a 50 yard touchdown yard and also the Steelers first touchdown of the season.

the captain of The Duster on a cell phone and got through to get to

them. They were on a race against time. And with the lives of The

Duster ship and crew in the balance every second counts as they

push through the storm and waves.

The Duster. There were people crying and others were in a state

of shock. And then Nick went off to look out at The Bering Sea

and then Nick talked to Bob. And then Nick and Bob started

talking to Jessica who was the wife of the captain of The Duster.

“No” she says “it is way too dangerous”. They all look up at Nick and

Bob. “What are they talking about” asked Emily the wife of Bob.

They were talking about going out there after The Duster with The

Phoenix said Jessica. “What you can’t there must be another way” said Emily.

“We are losing one we don’t want to lose you and The Phoenix too”

Emily said with a tear in her eye. Bob looked at her “Emily my

lovely wife we are the only ones that can save The Duster” said Bob. Sara

stood up he is right Sara said. And finally Emily said “alright bring

them back home and please be careful”. “We will” Nick, Bob, and

Sara promised. And the they scrambled to The Phoenix with

pumps and chains. As they set out through the storm. They called

through the storm and was doing just fine. But then the sea started

getting even rougher. And then The Duster started to rock back and

forth and the waves got to the highest point at 50-60. And then

disaster struck the boat. The Duster was hit by a 61 foot wave. The

power was knocked out. But that was the least of their worries as

they were trying to get the power back on. And then they went

down into the engine room and there was a leak in the engine

room! And they also couldn’t get the power back on to call for

help. They were stranded out on The Bering Sea with no power

and a leak in the engine room. The people back at Dutch Harbor

were extremely worried about The Duster. The Duster usually calls

back to Dutch Harbor every hour to let them know that they where

okay an hour and thirty minutes had passed and no call back form

The Duster. Then the crew on The Duster remembered they had a

Homing Beacon on board the ship just like all the boats. They

lowered the Homing Beacon into the water attached to a string and

it sends out a signal to the cost guard. And then the coast guard

sends the word out that there is a distress signal was coming from

from two massive boats which was almost as big as the biggest

boat of all the others The Duster and The Phoenix as a tag team.

Nick thought Sara was beautiful but Sara didn’t think much of him.

But she always looked at Nick from behind her shoulder at him

with a smile and wink. Then it was time to go out and fish for crab.

The

Phoenix needed some repairs done to it. So the Duster headed out

to set down some crab pots. At first the sea was smooth and was

great for crab fishing and The Duster was pulling in crab at a great

rate. It was looking great. But then there was word going around of

a huge storm. And on The Bering Sea the storms out there can turn

very deadly in a matter of hours. At one hour smooth sailing. And

the next a huge storm with 40 –50 foot waves would be smacking

down on the boat. There were many boats and crew who have lost

their lives to storms just like the one that was heading right for

the crab fishing grounds. The family back at Dutch Harbor and the

crew of The Phoenix were worried about The Duster and were

hoping that they were okay. At first The Duster was navigating

There are some that argue what is the deadliest job in the world go

up to Alaska and near The Bering Sea and they will say it is crab

fishing. There is a legend of one person that was there for one

season. But he went up against some things in one season that

many crab fisherman face in a career and many don’t make it back

to tell the tale. His name was Nick he was from Pittsburgh PA.

And he was looking for work and got in touch with a friend whose

father was in the business of Crab Fishing and his friends name

was Sara. And her uncles name was Bob. They were going to be

fishing against some of the best in the business. The names of the

Captains where Phil, Sig ,Andy, and Keith. The names of their

boats where Time Bandit, Northwestern, Cornelia Marie, and the

Wizard. The name of the boat Nick and Sara would be fishing

Giant Freshwater Stingray

It is unbelievable that a stingray could get this big. It was up to 16.5 feet long and up to 1,200 pounds! And is in Thailand Indonesia and Malaysia. It was also called “wish you were dead fish”. The barb on the Giant Stingray’s tail measures up to 8 inches as well and also has a gland of poison in its tail.

ARAPAIMA

The mighty arapaima is said to be up to 10 feet and over 400 pounds and it lives in the amazon. There is a legend that there was a man that angered the gods. And the gods transformed him into the fish that became the arapaima. There are stories of fisherman that went out and never returned again. The people said that they where killed by the arapaima.
